Jazz vocalist SUSAN SINNER is a native of
the greater Los Angeles area. Specializing in jazz standards best known by some
of her favorite influences such as Dinah Washington and Irene Kral, she can
either swing a song or move you with a ballad or blues. Susan's smoky alto has
been described as
passionate, soulful, dark and moving.
Although a music fan all of her life, Susan did not begin to study music &
voice until college. During this period she developed a love for singing
standards, blues, rock country and folk songs at local coffee houses and
parties around the area.
Susan has performed at many LA/OC jazz venues, festivals and events
throughout her career: Steamers Jazz Café, Lunaria, & Restaurant Kikuya to
name just a few. In 2002 Susan was also a featured jazz artist at the Los
Angeles County Museum of Art's (LACMA) "Friday Night Jazz Concert Series" as
well as Main Stage Jazz Artist for the Long Beach Pride Festival. Susan has
performed with many of LA's best including: Tamir Hendelmen, Ron Anthony,
John Rangel, Steve Cotter, Mark Massey, Joe Bagg, Matt Otto and many others.
2002 also brought acclaim for Susan's self released debut CD "for now...for
later" which can be heard on various jazz radio stations in LA and
throughout the U.S. The CD features 8 of her favorite tunes along with some
of LA and NY's best musicians: John Rangel, Steve Cotter, Mark Ferber, Matt
